Wide range of materials
With Koliqi Marble, the options are vast. Choose from a selection of materials, including Limestone, Marble, Quartzite, Granite, Quartz, Sintered stone, Volcanic, Porcelain, Slate, Sandstone, Caesarstone, Silestone, Bstone, Compac, and Xstone. Each material brings its own unique character to your bathroom space.
Functional Finishes
For bathroom flooring, bespoke stone shower trays, and areas prone to moisture, we recommend, at a minimum, a honed finish. This not only adds a touch of sophistication but also provides slip resistance, ensuring safety in wet environments. Additionally, stone’s excellent heat conductivity, when combined with underfloor heating, creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for chilly winter days.
Considerations for Wet Environments
Careful consideration is essential when designing wet rooms or shower rooms. Substrate falls, drainage tanking, and waterproofing play a crucial role in the substructure before the installation of slabworks, tiling, or mosaics. Our team ensures meticulous planning to create a functional and aesthetically pleasing bathroom environment.

]]>A silestone quartz worktop has many benefits.
The product is highly stain resistant because quartz naturally has immunity to stay resistance, stopping bacteria, liquid and dirt from taking hold. The quartz composition also means that these worktops have a high level of resistance to acid because quartz is actually the hardest mineral on the planet.
These kinds of materials are also incredibly durable, and very scratch resistant. However, despite being such a tough material, it’s incredibly flexible, coming in a wide range of different colours. There are more than 90 colours and three different surface finishes available.
The slabs are available in a range of different shapes and thicknesses. It’s also quite cost-effective, because it is low maintenance, durable, but also affordable considering its many benefits.
Silestone and Various Kitchen Styles
As a type of material for use as a worktop, this is highly durable and very versatile. You can fit it into practically any kind of space because it has many different colours.
For example, if you implemented it in a rustic setting, you could go for something in earthtones. Alternatively, you can use brighter tones for a more modern, upscale kitchen. The different types of thicknesses also lend themselves well to different types of kitchens.
Uses of Silestone in Your House
A silestone quartz worktop is a beautiful material. However, the material can also be used in a range of other settings and in different ways because it is easy to work with.
This is a material which is popular with countertops, but people also use it for sinks, wall cladding, shower trays, flooring, and kitchen and bathrooms. It’s a very flexible material, because it is durable, stain resistant, and non-porous.
Silestone Colours Available
The great thing about a silestone quartz worktop is that it can come in a range of colours.
It’s definitely easy to pick and choose a lot of great options because there are so many different colours. The shades and textures come in a wide range of hues across the whole spectrum.
This definitely works in the favour of the material because you can use it in most places. You can use darker tones from rustic settings, and then brighter tones in modern areas. Further helping the flexibility of the material is the fact that there are multiple shades that are quite similar, so if one just isn’t quite right, you can change it for a different one.
How to Clean Silestone
With a lot of materials, there is often a danger when cleaning that you will inadvertently damage the material with cleaning products, because lots of them contain acids and acidic compounds. Thankfully, this is not a concern here.
Being acid-resistant, this is an ideal material for cleaning. You can pretty much use any kind of cleaning material or cleaning method to get this clean, and there will be very little evidence of damage.
Naturally, repeated exposure to cleaning chemicals will eventually erode the material down over time, but it will get to the point where you can just replace it for minimal cost.
Obviously, safer cleaning materials with less acidic compounds will help to extend the lifespan and keep it looking great, so they are recommended, but you can probably claim this with just about anything and get good results.

]]>Marble floors have plenty of benefits. Let’s take a look at them.
Pros and Cons of Marble Floors
Pros
Cons
Costs of Marble Floors
A marble floor is considered to be a premium architectural element. It is therefore much higher in price than other types of materials.
Broadly speaking, marble falls on the higher end of natural stone materials, but they don’t last as long as something like granite or slate. you can expect to pay anywhere from £10 or more for one square foot of material.
Specialty marble can cost more, with an upwards cost of £30 per square foot. The cost of professional installation adds to the price of marble. You might have to pay an extra £5 per square foot for installation.
How to Clean Marble Floors
Marble is an easy material to clean. Keeping it clean can be done with the same damp mop and sweeping that you would do for a ceramic tile.
However, marble is a porous material. Therefore, large amounts of water should not be left on the surface. This water will penetrate the marble and discolour it.
Maintenance and Repair of Marble Floors
Users should be careful of the softness of marble. It is easy to scratch and chip marble flooring. Damage of this kind cannot be repaired without having to replace the entire area. Polishing damaged marble will only serve to highlight the ruined areas.
As a stone, marble has a pH rating that is on the alkaline side because it is a sedimentary limestone. This composition means that marble can have a chemical reaction with acidic substances. Food, beverages, and cleaning products will all trigger a reaction.
You can prevent this by applying a chemical penetrating sealer, followed by a surface sealer after the marble has been installed. However, you should probably reapply the sealer on an annual basis.
Design Inspiration
A marble floor has quite a few benefits. First of all, it’s a very regal looking stone, which instantly improves the elegance and appearance of your space. Because marble is available in multiple colours, and also in multiple block colours, there are many different ways you can decorate.
Furthermore, because it is a naturally occurring product, every piece of marble that is used in a floor is unique. There is never going to be another piece exactly like it, because it won’t form in the same way twice. This means that every floor has a unique personality.
Different Types of Marble Floors
There are definitely quite a few types of marble flooring that can be used.
First of all, there is Carrara marble, which is often greyish white and has almost grey veining. It’s probably the most common type that you will see because it is fairly affordable.
There is also Calacatta marble, because it is the most luxurious and expensive, it’s often seen at the other end of the spectrum. It’s much more subtle, with darker colouring, and you only see it in very upscale homes. Another type of marble is statuary marble, which is much more luxurious than other types and has dramatic veins.

]]>Windows can be a beautiful focal point for your room, as it invites in the natural light you want to illuminate your space and offers a view of the outdoors. Framing that window can add to the look of the entire window itself, including the ledge on which it sits! Using stone for this ledge can add that splash of colour and class that stone provides for any of its uses, and is a unique material that creates a kind of accent to the space. Furthermore, because window ledges often are exposed to moisture (whether from outside, the occasional potted plant that rests there, or whatever other liquids might need to be set down on a sturdy surface) you can feel confident that your stone ledge will never become damaged or warped!
Stone walls are another gorgeous accent you can add to any room. Thin slabs can be used to cover walls, if large slab installations are out of your price range or are unreasonable for the space itself. Raw stone walls are another popular look that creates a beautiful and natural feel in the room. Whether you use stone in tiles, as a lining for the room, a protruding column of stone, or whatever you can come up with, consider your walls a canvas for stone installations that will make your space pop.
The fireplace mantle is a definite centre of attention. Comfort, warmth, and relaxed tones surround this area… so add the comfort, warmth, and class of a stone mantle to frame that fireplace as elegantly and beautifully as possible! The range of colour and texture available is sure to provide an option that will fit your room’s style perfectly. Plus, the stone’s heat resistance will ensure that no damage can be done to the space above or around your fireplace! Don’t settle for a lacklustre fireplace—a style that features right and let it be a favourite gathering place within your home.
Start looking through your stone options for ledges, walls and mantles today. From marble to granite to quartz and more, Koliqi Marble Ltd will have exactly what you need to add a stone feature you’ll love to your home.

]]>The edging of your countertops is an aspect of the stone installation that can vary widely in the price range. Different finishes require different amounts of work, tools, and care—therefore some are significantly pricier than others. Raw edges (edges where the stone is broken and chipped off to create a more natural, rough stone look) is one of the easier ways edging can be created, because it simply requires chipping and minor sanding. Soo, not only do you achieve a unique and natural look to add some interest and texture to your kitchen, but you also get a one of a kind piece of art!
Consider using smaller, leftover chunks from your contracting company’s previous jobs. These smaller, leftover slabs will sell for less than newly cut pieces! While many do not like the idea of “seams” in their countertops, where slabs come together, the visual effect is almost unnoticeable… and even if it is noticed, does not have to be an “unappealing” or awkward look. If done well with the right stonemasons, your seams can look intentionally styled and unobtrusive to the overall look of your worktops. You get the benefit of cheaper stone that looks just as beautiful as an “uninterrupted” piece!
Finally, you might consider using artificially made stone instead of natural. Natural stone is significantly higher priced because it occurs naturally and therefore must be mined and cut from a finite source. Synthetic stone, on the other hand, is created in a fraction of the time and offers the same benefits of natural stone! It can come in a variety of colors and textures, can be cut to bespoke sizes, is non porous and scratch resistant, lasts for decades, and looks beautiful in any style of room. Plus, this stone can be manufactured to actually be lighter than natural stone without losing the durability, meaning installation is safer for your home! Artificial stone is also much cheaper than any natural stone, making it affordable for lower price ranges.
You can find a variety of artificial stone options like Dekton, Neolith or Quartz and more at Koliqi Marble Ltd. Look into your options and find a style that works for you, at a price that works for you!

]]>The slabs of stone you use will be fitted into a wide cut out from your wall; the foundation is usually brick or concrete. As with any stone installation, you’ll need to prepare your entire house for the major demolition and construction involved with such a heavy and dense material. Protect your floors and walls with covers, and clear pathways entirely from your entrance to your fireplace area. Stone installation can get very dusty, very quickly… in fact, you may even want to turn off your central air system so that dust is contained in one area as best as possible.
Most stone options are heat resistant enough to work well for your fireplace. Popular choices for stone (especially for aesthetic or design purposes) include granite, limestone, marble, and travertine. All of these are equal in effectiveness, so you can choose what you want based on look and pricing! Granite is raw and more porous, so you can achieve a rougher, more natural effect. Limestone and travertine are lighter in colour than many stones, providing the elegant feel that many want from their fireplace. And, of course, marble’s beautiful texture is a gorgeous option for any fireplace. Keep in mind though that the upkeep for marble is a little more intensive than granite! If maintenance is a priority for you, you may want to stick to something that remains bright and unmarred by fire and smoke.
This is not a project for the untrained! Hire professionals to design, cut and carry the stone slabs into your home and install them into your walls safely and without damage to your home. It is well worth the investment of professional care to have your home safe and your fireplace done right! If getting large slabs through your home is a concern, consider using stone tiles instead– both slabs and tiles can achieve a classic and beautiful look for this feature.

]]>Floors receive the most friction and impact of any surface of your home. This means that scuffs, scratches, dents and warping are not only possible, but likely for your flooring. Some of the most common flooring types include Limestone and Marble, which create a warm tone to the home and look beautiful when first installed but can quickly become damaged and unpleasant. Therefore, sealing your flooring with an effective sealant material is essential to keeping those floors beautiful for longer.
Worktops are another aspect of your home that requires frequent cleaning, not only for cleanliness and aesthetic but for sanitation so that food preparation is safe and healthy. The best material, then? Quartz! There is a vast variety of Quartz options you can choose from that will match your design needs, but what’s better, this is a material that will last decades before needing major renovation or replacement. Quartz is, of course, one of the hardest materials that exist, meaning it is highly resistant to scratches and nearly impossible to break with the minor forces of everyday kitchen or bathroom tasks. Furthermore, your Quartz Worktops are scratch resistant, and nonporous (meaning they are also water resistant and can be sanitized easily.)
Your cabinets for your kitchen, bathrooms, living room, or wherever else you use cabinetry, can be styled to be more convenient for your cleaning and maintenance. For example, cabinetry that reaches all the way to the ceiling will not (because it cannot) collect dust, meaning there is no need for routine dusting that simply spreads those particles everywhere else in your home. Cabinets without extra trims or ornate knobs and handles also make for easy cleaning—without the textured detailing, you can spend less time making sure that you’ve dusted every crevice!
Make your home easier to manage and more durable for the long run! Start with checking out our Quartz Worktops at KML worktops, today.
