However, it is notoriously porous, prone to etching from everyday acids (lemon juice, coffee, wine) and requires regular sealing and careful maintenance. Statuario Cascata Quartz delivers all the visual drama of the original — the luminous white base, the bold, characterful veining — in a fully engineered format that is non-porous, completely maintenance-free and built for busy modern kitchens.
Composed of approximately 93% natural quartz crystal bound with polymer resins and pigments, this surface is twice as hard as granite and far more resistant to the daily rigours of kitchen life. It will not etch, stain or harbour bacteria, and it never needs sealing or reconditioning.
Statuario Cascata presents a pure, bright white background adorned with dramatic, flowing grey veins that cascade boldly across the slab. The veining is bold and prominent, larger and more assertive than Calacatta or Carrara-inspired designs, making this a statement worktop that commands attention.
