Location: Windsor, Berkshire
Material: Patagonia Quartzite Polished
Project: Bespoke Commercial Bar & Restaurant Surfaces
This project was one we genuinely enjoyed working on from start to finish. A restaurant and bar in Windsor approached us looking for something that would make an immediate impression, not just a surface that does the job, but one that becomes a focal point of the entire space.
After looking at several stone options together, the choice landed on Patagonia quartzite, and it’s easy to see why. The stone carries a warmth that’s hard to replicate, amber and caramel tones running through a creamy base, with movement in the veining that shifts under the restaurant’s lighting throughout the day. No two sections look exactly the same, which is exactly what the client wanted.
Patagonia quartzite is quarried in Brazil and sits at the more distinctive end of the natural stone spectrum. Its rich, earthy colouring and bold veining make it a popular choice for statement installations, and it’s increasingly sought after in hospitality settings where the material needs to work hard visually while also standing up to daily use.
As a quartzite rather than a marble, it offers considerably better resistance to scratching and surface wear, an important consideration in a busy bar environment where bottles, glasses and general service take their toll over time. When properly sealed and maintained, Patagonia quartzite holds up well in commercial settings and continues to look exceptional for years.
